A Symbol of Our Wilderness and.....

an animal deserving of our understanding and acceptance. The wolf is a magnificent species, superbly adapted to contend with it's harsh environment. The Indian revered the wolf as a significant animal. Both were hunters, both defended their families, provided food for young and old. The Indian defended his tribe, the wolf defended his pack. In the eyes of the Indian, no animal showed the strength to survive as well as the wolf. To say he hunted like a wolf was the highest compliment.
