T-Shirt-American By Birth
The American version of the T-Shirt started during World War I when the American soldiers noticed the European soldiers wearing a lightweight cotton undershirt which appeared to be very comfortable especially on hot and humid days. Of course, they were much cooler than the heavy, wool uniforms that the American troops wore, so naturally they caught on quickly with the Americans. They called them T-Shirts.
